Sunyani West MP to UENR Students: “I Will Not Promise You Jobs I Cannot Guarantee”

ACCRA — The Member of Parliament for Millicent Yeboah Amankwah, has told students from the University of Energy and Natural Resources that she will not make promises of employment she cannot guarantee, stressing that unemployment remains a national challenge that no government has fully resolved.

Speaking during a meeting with the students in Parliament, Hon. Millicent Yeboah Amankwah said graduates are not automatically assured of jobs after completing school and urged the students to take personal responsibility for shaping their futures.

According to her, success largely depends on the choices individuals make and the paths they decide to pursue. She encouraged the students to be proactive, develop their skills, and seize opportunities rather than rely solely on government employment.

The MP also shared her personal journey, revealing that she decided while in senior high school that she would one day contest to become a Member of Parliament. She urged the students to pursue their ambitions boldly while they are young and energetic.

Hon. Millicent further called on her constituents to assess her performance based on her four-year mandate, stating that they have every right to vote her out of office if she fails to make a meaningful impact.

“I have four years to serve. Judge me by what I achieve within that period and hold me accountable if I fail to deliver,” she told the students.
