The second batch of beneficiaries under the eye surgery initiative spearheaded by Weija-Gbawe MP, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has successfully undergone surgery and is currently recovering, marking another milestone in efforts to improve access to quality eye care services in the constituency.

The programme is being implemented through a partnership involving the Columbia Union Conference (USA), the Ghana Adventist Health Services (GAHS), and the medical team at SDA Valley View Hospital.

The initiative seeks to restore sight to individuals suffering from various vision-related conditions, particularly residents who may otherwise be unable to afford specialized eye treatment.

Organisers described the successful surgeries as a significant achievement in the ongoing healthcare intervention, noting that the project is transforming lives through the provision of critical medical support.

According to the organisers, beyond restoring vision, the initiative is helping beneficiaries regain independence, improve their quality of life, and contribute more actively to their families and communities.

Speaking on the programme, Mr. Shaib said the partnership highlights the importance of collaboration in expanding access to specialized healthcare services and tackling preventable vision impairment.

He expressed optimism that the initiative would continue to bring hope and brighter futures to more individuals and families as additional beneficiaries receive treatment in subsequent phases of the programme.
