Four children from Kasoa trained by Sophia Boadi Readathon International Foundation (SBRIF) have made history by becoming current world record holders after setting four Guinness World Records, placing Kasoa and Ghana in the global spotlight for youth excellence, innovation, and education.
The achievement, supervised by SBRIF Executive Director Sophia Boadi, saw the children outperform challengers from China, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and India during the competition held in December 2025.
The young champions secured records in Fastest Time to Separate Two Bags of Recyclable Materials, Fastest Time to Pack a School Bag, Fastest Time to Build a Toilet Roll Pyramid, and Most Tree Seedlings Planted in One Minute.
The recycling challenge highlighted environmental sustainability and youth participation in waste management efforts, while the school bag packing category promoted education preparedness and organization skills among children.
The toilet roll pyramid competition tested strategy, speed, and critical thinking abilities, demonstrating problem-solving skills among Ghanaian youth.
The tree-planting record, set during Ghana’s National Farmers Day on December 5, 2025, underscored the importance of agriculture and environmental conservation.
SBRIF said the achievement represents a shift in educational development by focusing not only on literacy but also on nurturing children to compete globally.
The Foundation also appealed to President of Ghana to officially recognize the young achievers, saying such acknowledgment would motivate children across the country to pursue excellence.
Organizers further invited the public to the Ghana Literacy Fair 2026 scheduled for May 29, 2026, at PIWC Atomic at 8:00 a.m.
The achievement is being described as a historic milestone and among the first of its kind involving Ghanaian children on the international stage.
