If Foreigners Leave, Who Will Drive the Ubers?” – Hon. Jean-Marie Formadi Questions South Africa’s Treatment of Africans

The Member of Parliament for Jean-Marie Formadi has passionately called on South Africa to reconsider its treatment of fellow Africans, arguing that the continent can only progress through unity and cooperation.

Speaking on the issue of xenophobia and the treatment of foreign nationals in South Africa, Hon. Jean-Marie Formadi questioned the growing hostility towards Africans from other countries who live and work there.

Drawing from her recent visit to South Africa, she noted that many of the Uber drivers and workers she encountered were foreign nationals contributing to the country’s economy.

“If foreigners are being pushed out, who will do these jobs?” she asked. “Will South Africans now take over the Uber driving and other work that many foreigners are currently doing?”

The Biakoye MP raised concerns about why fellow Africans are being treated unfairly despite their contributions, stressing that Africans should see one another as brothers and sisters rather than competitors.

She passionately appealed to South Africans to embrace African solidarity and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that the vision of a united Africa can only be achieved when citizens of different African countries are welcomed and respected across the continent.
