FTF Summit Champions Youth Collaboration as Key to Ghana’s Development

Lawyer and President of For The Future (FTF) Organisation, Kezia Asiedua Sanie, has called on young Ghanaians in the social impact space to build networks focused on collective progress rather than personal advancement, stressing that Ghana’s development challenges require stronger collaboration among civil society, government and the private sector.

Addressing more than 200 participants at the inaugural FTF Impact Summit – Changemakers Dialogues held at the Embassy of Switzerland in Accra last week, Ms Sanie said transformational change could only be achieved through collaboration, shared learning and mutual accountability. She noted that no individual, organisation or sector could create lasting impact in isolation.

The summit brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, diplomats, development practitioners and youth leaders to nurture a new generation of Ghanaian changemakers and encourage stronger partnerships for inclusive and sustainable growth.

Ms Sanie explained that FTF is evolving beyond the traditional NGO framework into a broader movement aimed at empowering young people with opportunities and support systems to drive meaningful change in their communities. She added that social impact consciousness across sectors remains critical to national development.

The event featured discussions on governance, compliance for non-profit organisations, climate sustainability, technology, gender inclusion, media and social innovation. Representatives from the Office of the Registrar of Companies and the Non-Profit Organisation Secretariat also guided participants on regulatory requirements and operational standards.

Swiss Ambassador Simone Giger highlighted the importance of investing in youth leadership and resilient civic institutions, while Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment George Opare Addo underscored the role civil society organisations can play in national development and job creation.

A major feature of the summit was the “Impact Circles,” sector-focused groups designed to deepen collaboration in education, health, governance, climate, technology, disability inclusion, media and women’s empowerment. Participants said the initiative strengthened networking and practical idea-sharing among young professionals and social innovators.

The summit concluded with lawyer and business executive Femi Asante urging participants to embrace entrepreneurship and leadership as collective efforts, emphasising that strong partnerships are essential for long-term impact.

FTF, founded in 2016, is a youth-led non-profit organisation focused on empowering underprivileged children and communities through education, mentorship and growth opportunities in Ghana, Nigeria and beyond. The summit formed part of the organisation’s 10th anniversary celebrations under the theme: “Bridging Leaders and Changemakers for Social Impact.”
