Aide to Akyem Oda MP Dies in Fatal Crash on Oda Nkwanta Road

An aide to the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has died following a fatal road accident on the Akyem Oda–Nkwanta road.

The deceased, identified as Kofi Nti, was travelling in a Nissan Navara 4×4 pickup with registration number GT 2639-24 alongside three others on their way to Oda Nkwanta to help address disputes linked to the ongoing New Patriotic Party polling station elections.

According to reports, the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with two other vehicles during the journey. Kofi Nti reportedly died instantly at the scene, while the three other occupants sustained critical injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

Personnel from the Ghana Police Service responded swiftly to the incident, assisting in transporting the injured to medical facilities while launching investigations into the cause of the crash.

The tragedy adds to a growing number of fatal road accidents recorded in the Eastern Region within the past two weeks, including incidents that claimed the lives of several prominent individuals, among them a former Eastern Regional Coordinator of the Free SHS Secretariat.
