*Dr. Kabiru: Gov’t Programs “Totally Failed” as Utility Prices, Farmer Hardship Bite Ghanaians*

*ACCRA, Greater Accra Region* — Walewale MP Hon. Dr. Kabiru says government programs have “totally failed,” declaring Ghanaians are “back to square one” amid unmet promises on cocoa farmer welfare, teacher licensure, utility costs, and the fight against galamsey.

Speaking in an interview, Dr. Kabiru said no Ghanaian household is better off today, with every family feeling the impact of high utility prices. “As I speak now every household is really in effect of increased utility prices. There’s no single household who will tell you even the ministers themselves are complaining about the high utility prices,” he stated.

The MP said the situation facing cocoa farmers mirrors what all farmers nationwide are experiencing. He challenged anyone to point to “one single farmer, a farmer in the true sense of the word saying that he’s better off.”

Dr. Kabiru also criticized government over failed pledges to teachers and students. He said teachers remain unhappy after promises to cancel the teacher licensure exam and grant automatic postings went unfulfilled. “There’s no single teacher in the whole country who is going to tell you he’s happy with the government,” he noted. Students, he added, are equally disappointed because “all the promises made, none of it has been fulfilled.”

According to Dr. Kabiru, the fight against illegal mining — which he described as an economic issue — “has failed.” He concluded that predictions he made earlier about what “awaits Ghanaians” have now materialized.
