Accra, Ghana – Member of Parliament Hon. Nana Asafo Adjei has criticized the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, arguing that it failed to adequately address the government’s promise of job creation for Ghana’s youth.

Contributing to the debate in Parliament, Hon. Asafo Adjei said many young Ghanaians were expecting the implementation of the “one person, one job” and “one job, three shifts, three workers” initiatives, which he described as critical solutions to the country’s unemployment challenges.

He stated that the expectations of the masses and the teeming youth had not been met, insisting that employment creation remained the key issue citizens wanted government to prioritize.

“The masses and the teeming youth out there are expecting that the one job, three shifts, and three workers should be implemented. That is what they are looking for,” he said.

According to the MP, the Mid-Year Budget Review did not provide enough details on how government intends to create jobs, describing the document as lacking the employment commitments promised to Ghanaians.

“This review is bereft of the jobs that they promised the Ghanaian people to provide,” he added.

His comments formed part of the ongoing parliamentary debate on the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review, where lawmakers have been assessing government’s performance and policies for the first half of the year.
