Afenyo-Markin Presents 100 Laptops to Effutu Teachers Under “One Teacher, One Laptop” Initiative

Effutu, Ghana – The Member of Parliament for Effutu and Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has donated 100 laptops to teachers in the Effutu Municipality under his “One Teacher, One Laptop” initiative, aimed at strengthening digital education and improving teaching standards.

The presentation, held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, forms part of the MP’s efforts to support teachers with modern technological tools following appeals from educators for resources to enhance lesson preparation, classroom instruction, and administrative work.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Afenyo-Markin reaffirmed his commitment to empowering teachers with the digital resources needed to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving education system.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to view the laptops as an investment in their professional growth and to use them to improve the quality of education delivered to students.

“I charge each one of you to see it as my personal investment in you and to see that investment yield returns in the form of better-prepared lessons, improved record-keeping and better outcomes under your care,” he said.

The Minority Leader further urged the teachers to make effective use of the devices to enhance teaching and learning while helping students acquire the digital skills necessary to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.

According to Mr. Afenyo-Markin, investing in teachers remains one of the most effective ways to improve educational outcomes, noting that access to digital tools is essential for modern classroom instruction.

The “One Teacher, One Laptop” initiative is expected to boost teachers’ productivity, improve lesson delivery, and support the integration of technology into teaching across schools in the Effutu Municipality.
