President John Dramani Mahama has expressed concern over the rising conflicts in Ghana, particularly chieftaincy, land, and ethnic disputes, which are placing increased pressure on the country’s security services.

Speaking during a visit from the National Peace Council, the President commended the Council for its efforts in fostering understanding among faith-based institutions. He cited the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding on religious conduct in mission schools as a notable example of the Council’s positive interventions.

President Mahama emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of conflict, including economic exclusion and limited opportunities for citizens. He highlighted the government’s initiatives to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and improve livelihoods through infrastructure development and the decentralization of funds to districts across the country.
