NDC Atiwa East Accuses Daniel Ansah of Land Grabbing, Defamation Against DCE

The Atiwa East Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for an urgent investigation into the activities of Daniel Ansah, popularly known as Abeiku, over alleged illegal land acquisitions, destruction of property, and a purported defamatory campaign against the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim.

Addressing a press conference, the Constituency Secretary, Isaac Begina, described Ansah as a “security threat” to the Atiwa and Fanteakwa enclave, alleging that he is orchestrating coordinated actions aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the DCE.

According to the statement, more than 200 farmers in Asamang Tamfoe have allegedly lost approximately 70 hectares of farmland due to what the party claims are unlawful activities linked to Ansah and his associates. The party further alleged that a parcel of land demarcated by the community for a cemetery had been forcibly taken over.

The NDC also claimed that several properties, including a residential structure belonging to a woman in the area, had been demolished. The party contends that these incidents are connected to ongoing efforts by the DCE to clamp down on illegal mining (galamsey) and land encroachment within the constituency.

Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim, District Chief Executive for Atiwa East, was praised by the constituency executives for what they described as his firm stance against irresponsible mining and illegal land activities. The party commended his appointment by former President John Dramani Mahama and described Owusu Ntim as one of the best-performing DCEs in the country.

The statement further referenced allegations that Ansah had backing from Madam Evelyn Korang, a member of the Council of State from the Eastern Region, allegedly to influence authorities. However, the NDC cautioned against any actions that could undermine peace and stability in the constituency.

The constituency executives have therefore called on the National Security Coordinator, the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to immediately investigate the alleged illegal activities and reported land seizures.

They urged the media and the general public to disregard what they described as unsubstantiated claims and propaganda against the DCE, reaffirming their support for his leadership and commitment to protecting lands and livelihoods in Atiwa East.

The party concluded by pledging its continued dedication to truth, justice, and development within the constituency.
