The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the postponement of the scheduled District Assembly and Unit Committee by-elections until further notice.

In a statement issued and signed by Mr. Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department, the Commission said the decision is to allow for further administrative processes and assured the public that new dates will be communicated in due course.

“The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the General Public that the District Assembly and Unit Committee By-Elections have been put on hold until further notice. New dates will be announced in due course,” the statement read.

The Commission expressed its appreciation to the public for their understanding and cooperation.

The EC reiterated its commitment to transparency, fairness and integrity in the conduct of all electoral activities.
