Dr Ato Forson named Africa’s Most Outstanding Finance Minister of 2025

Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has been named Outstanding Minister of the Year 2025, in recognition of his performance and leadership at the Ministry of Finance.

The recognition, which emerged from independent assessments and public performance rankings, places Dr. Forson at the top among ministers for the year under review. Analysts cited his handling of fiscal policy, engagement with stakeholders, and efforts toward economic stabilization as key factors behind the recognition.

Since assuming office, Dr. Forson has played a central role in shaping government’s economic direction, including budget implementation, debt management, and negotiations aimed at restoring confidence in Ghana’s economy. His approach has also been noted for increased transparency and communication with Parliament and the Ghanaian public.

Observers say the recognition reflects growing public and institutional confidence in the Finance Ministry’s leadership at a time when economic governance remains a top national priority.

Dr. Forson’s recognition as Outstanding Minister of the Year adds to ongoing discussions about ministerial performance and accountability, as Ghanaians continue to assess the impact of government policies on livelihoods and national development.
