Dorcas Affo-Toffey Visits Key Aviation Institutions

The Deputy Minister for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has paid a working visit to the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) as part of a familiarisation tour aimed at strengthening collaboration within Ghana’s aviation sector.

The visit offered the Deputy Minister first-hand insight into ongoing operations, safety standards, and key development initiatives being undertaken by both institutions. She was received by management and staff, who provided briefings on their respective mandates to ensure safe, secure, and efficient air transport services across the country and beyond.

The GCAA highlighted its regulatory responsibility in overseeing aviation safety and ensuring compliance with international standards. Meanwhile, GACL outlined efforts to modernise airport infrastructure and enhance passenger experience, particularly at Kotoka International Airport.

Hon. Affo-Toffey commended the management and staff of both institutions for their dedication and professionalism, acknowledging the aviation industry’s critical role in promoting tourism, facilitating trade, and supporting national development.

The engagement also created space for discussions on operational challenges, innovation, and strategies to position Ghana as a leading aviation hub within the West African sub-region.
