Eastern Regional Police Command deploys Over 1,000 personnel for NPP presidential primaries

The Eastern Regional Police Command is gearing up for a peaceful New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primaries, slated for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The party will select its new leader, who will lead them into the 2028 election. Five contestants are vying for the position: Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Osei Yaw Adutwum, and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

To ensure a smooth exercise, the Eastern Regional Police Command will deploy 1,717 officers to various polling centers. Each constituency will have 125 police personnel, including 2 senior officers, 2 rapid response teams, and trained personnel for public order management.

The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Owusu Bempah emphasized their commitment to protecting lives and property.
