Armed men attack health facility in Assin Wurakese, health workers threaten to abandon posts

Some unidentified armed men have reportedly attacked a health facility in Assin Wurakese, Assin Fosu in the Central Region. The armed men were reported to have attacked a patient receiving treatment at the health facility, inflicting a machete wound on the patient.

The incident has left health workers terrified, with some threatening to abandon their posts.

The patient was initially receiving care for a machete wound inflicted by a friend over a GH¢20 debt. The motives behind the armed men’s attack are unclear.

The Assin Fosu Police Command is urged to investigate and ensure the facility’s security. Authorities have taken measures to protect healthcare workers and patients in Assin Wurakese.
